A little while ago I started preparing several boards for painting:  I used several coats of PVA glue and after that several coats of gypsum primer, all as per usual instructions.  For reasons to do with science which I don’t quite understand, the primer cracked on one of the boards.  I liked the result, and so I decided to allow the cracking to show in the background.  The final result was a question mark on Paleontology, the study of the fossil record, with a lot of gold paint, texture sand, and aquarium gravel.
