Ice Cave II

Ice Cave, 2018

Glass paints are viscous and so they would drip down the surface and form shapes that reminded me of stalactites in caves (I used to do caving when I was younger). In addition, the oil-based sets don’t mix well with the water-based sets of paints so the effects are rather interesting.

The “Ice Cave II” came about because of the glass paint behaviour, but also because I had more blues, greens and whites in the paint collection than browns (which would have been needed to paint a normal rock cave). Very organic as they say…
